From the very beginning, we believed small actions make a big difference.
Here are a few things we’re doing today, and every day to protect our planet:
WE USE SUSTAINABLE, AMERICAN-GROWN COTTON
Since the launch of Michael Stars in 1986, we’ve invested in the effort to keep our product local wherever possible. Which is why we use Supima® Cotton to craft our tees. The essence of Supima Cotton is that it’s sustainable. With the idea that sustainability is much more than organic, Supima addresses environmental protection, while supporting investment in our economy.
Supima’s long, fine fibers are smoother and softer than most fabrics, yet incredibly durable and resistant. Customers can wear our tees, again and again, confident they will still maintain their original color and softness.
WE PARTNER WITH LOCAL SUPPLIERS AND MANUFACTURERS THAT SUPPORT LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY
Just like our own family-run company, we partner with only the best, small, independently-owned and family operated, textile, manufacturing, dye and wash houses.
Their commitment to supporting sustainability involves minimizing the use of water, using low impact eco-friendly dyes that are less harmful to the environment, and imposing strict quality control to reduce waste.
WE RECYCLE TO HELP REDUCE CARBON POLLUTION
Recycling is one of the easiest ways to reduce our carbon footprint. By recycling glass, bottles, cans, paper, and packaging materials, we’re helping in reducing pollution and the energy it takes to make something from scratch.
WE INSPIRE EACH OTHER TO MAKE SUSTAINABLE CHOICES
At Michael Stars, we encourage our team members to help reduce waste and energy consumption. Whether it is bringing a reusable coffee mug or water bottle, or turning off appliances when not in use – we believe that small choices can make a big difference.
